Kevin Campagna

Who I Am.

My name is Kevin Campagna, I am a 33 year-old USMC combat veteran.

What I Do.

I have worked as a mechanic at a local bike shop called Bicycles Plus for close to five years now. I have a passion for ultra-endurance cycling and in 2013 I raced the Tour Divide MTB race from Banff, Canada to the Mexico border to raise awareness to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I have an entrepreneurial side of me that runs a non-profit organization called Pedal Against PTSD which I founded in 2013 after finishing the 2800+ mile race.  Our mission at Pedal Against PTSD is to empower military and veterans to overcome PTSD through the sport of cycling. We provide high end bicycles to qualified warriors and create a strong community outreach program and contribute funds back to Dallas VA Research Corporation for research and development to help combat the affliction that is PTSD.  I also work with a great new company called Shoulders of Giants – an online magazine and gear review site, focused on the creation and delivery of in-depth, high-quality commentary of outdoor sporting categories, trends, culture and more. Please check them out and help us grow!

Where I Live.

I currently live in Dallas, Texas in a small apartment with my dog Gauge.

Why I Beard.

Ever since I got out the Marine Corps. in 2004 I have shaved and then let it grow for a few months, but I never really started to grow a true beard until a few years ago. I started letting my beard grow out for a few months and then I would trim it down, and it wasn’t until last year or so that I found Beardbrand and ordered some Four Vices beard oil and loved it! I have been using beard oil ever since and the past few months I decided to stop cutting my beard length (other than proper trimming) and let it grow. I love the experience of growing a beard and learning about how to keep it looking good at the same time.  I just recently ordered the Beardbrand wash and softener, and it’s amazing.
